In recognition of the supreme sacrifice and gallant performance in   various activities rendered by the BSF personnel, the President of India is pleased to award 02 President’s Police Medals for Gallantry, 09 Police Medal for Gallantry, 05 President’s Police Medals for Distinguished Services and 42 Police Medals for Meritorious Services   to BSF personnel on the occasion of Independence Day 2009. The names of the personnel are given below:
