29th BSF INTER FRONTIER ATHLETICS MEET-2006
Frontier Headquarters BSF Punjab Jalandhar is hosting 29th Inter Frontier Athletics meet - 2006 from 26th to 29th Sept 2006. Nine BSF Frontiers and IG HQrs FHQ of BSF comprising appx 500 sportsmen of National and International level are participating in the meet.
2. The meet was declared “OPEN” by Shri NPS Aulakh, IPS, Addl Director General, HQrs ADG (West) Chandigarh on 26th Sept 2006 in an impressive and colorful ceremony held at Ashwani stadium, BSF campus, Jalandhar Cantt. Captivating cultural programme was presented by the young students of BSF School Jalandhar.
3. Inter frontier games, in different disciplines are a regular feature in BSF. Such competition provides a healthy platform to BSF sportsmen to exhibit their rare talents and courage to be further groomed for national and international championship. These events not only help the force to do the talent spotting but also keep the border men in high degree of physical fitness.
4. The last Inter Frontier Athletics Meet was held at Paloura Camp, Jammu in 2005 in which Jammu Frontier stood Ist and Rajasthan Frontier secured IInd position.
5. The ongoing competitions will conclude on 29th Sept 2006 and closing ceremony would be presided over by Shri A K Mitra, IPS, Director General, Border Security Force. BSF authorities are expecting outstanding performance from the ongoing Athletics Meet.
